Sardinia Bicycle considers that those interested in a bike tour are seeking the opportunity to visit and learn, which means "traveling", rather than "being a tourist" therefore "being a curious and attentive discoverer", more than "a consumer of a service". Traveling by bike let you to approach easily to each site, to find out his true balance, but also in their own way. The "journey" is not confused with "the inevitable transfer from point to point", to be implemented as quicker as possible to be free to do more. For us, the trip is moving from one experience to another, from one discovery to another, ... minute after minute, scent after scent, view after view…. All this, respecting a sustainable way which is practicable by anyone in any moment.

The tour that we propose for this kind of experience, follows a route proven for over a decade and now classic for cycling tourists visiting Sardinia. The quality of the support tools offered (location manager, tracks, road book, conventions, etc.) it wants to make a difference compared to other similar proposals on the market. Where possible, the network of tracks is developed along paths and / or secondary roads, but, during the recommended periods, the modest vehicle traffic in Sardinia do not deprive you of some sections of roads that wind along stunning coastlines. It’s suitable for everyone, even for someone little bit rusty, it becomes a very pleasant physical experience. The length of the stages is variable, because the daily stage for someone it could be an half- step for someone else. It is proposed divided into two distinct tours, which allow only to run just half part: "from East" and "from West". But for those who feel sporty enough, or have available more time, or simply for those aim to do a workout in Sardinia rather than dwell on the places to be visited, the two tours can be completed in a single trip and realize the "Grand Tour South Sardinia". For more information (traffic, climate, history, etc.) about the sites that you can visit do not hesitate to consult this website at the page "Territories". Once you have chosen your favourite journey, you can decide when, or if you prefer a Self-Guided tour, or travel alone or with your group of friends, or otherwise you can chose a fixed date with all the benefits of our full support (All Inclusive). In any case, we will offer solutions tailored made to your requirements: equipment, maps, manuals land, housing, food and wine and beautiful experiences.

  • South Sardinia from East

As we propose, this itinerary could be done in four days, but with intermediate stages can be enjoyed even in five to six days, or divided into two weekends assisted by transfers. It starts from the capital of the region and immediately runs along the road between the beach of Poetto and the saltworks of Molentargius. From Margine Rosso it continues on the coastal road, and shortly after offers breathtaking views above coves that seems to be painted, up to Villasimius. Here you will stop and almost surely you will feel for a dip into the crystalline water of the sea. The next morning, between slight slopes and hill climbing, you will discover Costa Rei and S.Priamo, which during the nineteenth century it was part of the important reclamation of the ponds of Feraxi and Colostrai, and then you will run til Muravera. The third day it will be more as workout and it will lead you to chase the "silver paths" until Escalaplano. The inland area among the small town of Barumini and Orroli allows you to ride in a wide area of nuragical interest, and then up to Mandas to chase part of narrow gauge rails which still used by "Trenino Verde”(the Green Train of Sardinia). At Orroli you could decide to spend more time to enjoy the Marmilla area, or otherwise if you haven’t chosen to divide the tour, from Villonovaforru (or Sardara) you will begin your fourth day to reach of Cagliari. You cannot reach Cagliari without visiting the Castle of Sanluri, the murals and the "musical stones" in S.Sperate and potteries in Assemini.

  • South Sardinia from West

As we propose, this itinerary could be done in five days, but with intermediate stages can be enjoyed even in seven days, or divided into two weekends assisted by transfers. It starts from the city of Cagliari and immediately runs long the coastal sulcitana. Skirting the vast lagoon of S. Gilla it will give you an unexpected safari in a very impressive context not only in terms of the landscape, but also for the variety of birdlife just a few dozen meters from you. The following urban area will favor you for a first stop, and then move towards Sarroch, Villa S. Pietro and Pula where we will conclude the first stage, with a well-deserved visit of the beach and to the ruins of Nora. The following day will bring you up to Calasetta on the island of S. Antioco, passing previously through the beautiful beaches of Chia in Porto Tramatzu, Nuraghe Arresi, the village of Trattalias, the salt marshes of St. Catherine and the village Sant'Antioco. By ferry you reach Carloforte where you stay overnight and visit its hamlet, the next day you start the third stage. So the third day you will ride up to Montevecchio (Arbus-Gusini), surpassing the "Gulf of Lion" along a route from Fontanamare called "Mine by the Sea".

From this beautiful mining town, the next day you can enjoy an easy descent toward the sea of the Costa Verde and run to north till to Marceddì and hence cut off the plain of Campidano until Mogoro and Villonovaforru (or Sardara). The alarm clock is early, you have to return to Cagliari, but you cannot miss to visit before the Castle of Sanluri, the murals and the "musical stones" in S.Sperate and potteries in Assemini.
